Diaz, Gonzales score big wins in Chicago
13.12.03 - Dominic Pesoli and 8 Count Productions presented another fantastic evening of "wall to wall" excitement last night at the DePaul Athletic Center in Chicago. A huge crowd filled the arena on the coldest night of the year in the Windy CIty. Junior welterweight David Diaz, 22-0 (12) took a hard fought eight round unanimous decision win over tough Colorado native Frankie Sanchez , 13-10-1 (7) by scores of 80-72 on all cards. Although winning every round, Diaz was tested by the veteran but was able to use his strong jab and body punches to slow down the gutsy Sanchez.

In the co-main event, The Legend returned as Al "Speedy" Gonzales, 13-0 (8) took a
six round unanimous decision win over the heavy handed Mexican Carlos Nevarez 10-14 (4)
by scores of 60-54 (twice) and 60-53 in a junior welterweight affair. Gonzales displayed his array of boxing talents and was able to continue to pile up points during the fight by avoiding most of the bombs thrown by Nevarez.
Darling Jimenez, 16-1-2 (7) of Yonkers, NY took a second round KO win over Mario Lacey 6-5-3 (5)
of Mobile, Alabama in a lightweight bout.
Other action on the card saw Chicagoan welterweight Luciano Perez, 4-0 (4) score another huge KO win stopping Christian Nash, 2-8-2 (1) of Cincinnati, OH.
In the opening bout of the evening, New York City's Giovanni Lorenzo, 11-0 (5) stopped Adam Stewart, 2-5 (3) at 2:48 of the first round in a middleweight affair.
