"It was great to return to England and show the English fans and the English media who is the rightful heir to the world super middleweight throne," said Lacy. "I am willing to meet anyone in the Top-10 in my next fight, and then show the world who will be the next super middleweight king."
Lacy improved his perfect record to 16-0 (13 KOs), capping his best year yet as a professional. "Left Hook" added the USBA and the NABA titles to his wardrobe this year, becoming the only member of the 2000 Olympic team to win and simultaneously hold three titles. Wiggins, who fell to 22-3-2 (11 KOs), was Lacy's fourth victim of 2003 who unsuccessfully tried to dethrone the champ. Lacy knocked out James Crawford, 36-3-2 and Anwar Oshana, 23-2, both in the second round, and won a 12-round unanimous decision over Richard Grant, 14-9. The combined record of the four opponents Lacy defeated when he fought them was an impressive 93-16-4 -- a winning percentage exceeding 83% and over seven times the professional experience of Lacy.
The Lacy-Wiggins fight can be seen tonight on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, beginning at 9 P.M. ET/PT.
Lacy's next fight will be on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing, Saturday, March 6, opening for Diego Corrales-Joel Casamayor II title fight at Foxwoods Resort and Casino. Lacy is scheduled to defend all three of his titles
