BoxRec places Bradley ahead of Pacquiao on the pound-for-pound List
By Vitali Shaposhnikov: According to BoxRec.com, Timothy Bradley’s win over Manny Pacquiao was solid enough to instantly skyrocket him to become the fourth top pound-for-pound fighter in the world.
The list of the top five pound-for-pound boxers is as follows: Floyd Mayweather Jr., Wladimir Klitschko, Vitali Klitschko, Timothy Bradley, and lastly Manny Pacquiao. This list is not necessary erroneous, but bumping Timothy Bradley up and ahead of Manny Pacquiao seems a bit too soon.
Not only is the unpopular victory being disputed and looked into, but being placed ahead of let’s say Juan Manuel Marquez is a little bit absurd at this point in time. I understand that having a victory over Pacquiao is not just something to be proud of, but it’s groundbreaking in current boxing state of affairs.
Truthfully, I am in no way implying that a win over Manny Pacquiao doesn’t deserve a tremendous boost in rankings, it most definitely does, but in this case, not yet.. Bradley is a great fighter with a champion’s heart, and is undefeated, but this win is yet to be solidified. If a rematch ever takes place, and Bradley comes out victorious in a definitive fashion, then I will be more than agreeable with having his name right behind Floyd Mayweather Jr. on the pound-for-pound list.
