Chris Arreola-Bermane Stiverne - Who Wins?

By James Slater - Fightnews reports how as soon as the WBC receive the medical report on heavyweight contender Chris Arreola (who had to pull out of his scheduled Jun. 23rd fight with Mike Mollo due to an arm injury) there will be a purse bid for an Arreola-Bermane Stivern match-up, the winner to become the mandatory challenger for WBC heavyweight king Vitali Klitschko.

A decent and somewhat intriguing fight, Arreola against the Don King-promoted contender from Haiti could have fireworks.. 31 year old Arreola, beaten only by Vitali (in a 2009 title challenge) and Tomasz Adamek, is almost always involved in good action fights, whereas "Be Ware" Stivern can punch.. Unlike Arreola, however, 33 year old Stivern has not been active. Having had just two fights last year and just one so far in 2012- an 8rd UD win over Willie Herring in April - Stivern''s inactivity could catch up with him in a fight with the aggressive, swarming "Nightmare."

It was thought Arreola would land a shot at younger brother Wladimir, but it seems he could be one win away from a second shot at "Dr. Iron Fist." But with 41 year old Vitali reportedly set for retirement after one more bout, will the rematch actually happen even if Arreola beats Stivern?

For what it's worth, I'd fancy the more proven, more experienced Arreola to pound out a points win over Stivern, 22-1-1(20).
