The Den Haag puncher, 23-1 (18 KO’s) and a former WBF ‚world’ champion, was last seen in action when he impressively dismantled Sergey Dychkov in eight brutal rounds last November for the Benelux crown. “Since then we have received a few offers from different countries, but the numbers put forth really were an insult for Richel. He is ranked well, has an impressive record and a very attractive punchers style, so I was not going to let anyone treat him like a novice,” his German manager Olaf Schroeder explained Hersisia’s short hiatus.
The owner of Fight Production, which manages boxers from a good number of European countries, also stated that he was happy with the deal offered by Spanish promoter Enrique Soria of Tundra vs Barcelo: “We will sit down and put our brains together about Richel’s future, but Enrique is a professional down to the core and it’s always a pleasure to work with real boxing people.”
Indeed, an all-action heavyweight can be an attraction anyplace, especially in a country like Spain that hasn’t seen a good ‘big one’ in a long time. Furthermore, Hersisia is fluent in Spanish, has charisma – and a second christian name that seems just made for the Iberian market: Richel Pedro Hersisia!
