Murad Muhammad To Meet With JAB

05.01.04 - By Keith Terceira: Eddie Mustafa Muhammad and JAB attorney Walter Kane today confirmed that Pacquiao promoter Murad Muhammad will meet with Kane on Thursday. The recent dispute with Freddie Roach and Muhammad over trainers fees and accusations of wrong doing leveled at Muhammad seem to be close to at least a temporary resolution. Manny Pacquiao has stepped forward in recent days to declare that he was aware of the purse and was satisfied with what he received, he also told his camp to pay Roach because they had a good working relationship.

Walter Kane reports that Muhammad will provide all the paperwork pertaining to the Pacquiao-Barrera purse and contracts., and would be happy to have the matter cleared up. JAB legal offices are around the corner from HBO where negotiations are taking place for another HBO show featuring Pac Man and possibly Juan Manuel Marquez.

In an article today by Boxingscene writer Ronnie Nathanielsz, Pacquiao disclosed that he plans to junk promoter Muhammad and his registered manager Marty Elorde when his current contract ends early next year.

"Murad is the Problem" Pacquiao confessed in reference to the controversy that erupted over Roach's statements that he was quitting as trainer. In further statements he claimed that Murad merely showed up on the day of the fight to collect his money and banked on his contract with Pacquiao which earned him big bucks.

Manny Pacquiao is planning to fly into New York on the 15th to meet with Murad and HBO to discuss his next fight.

Walter Kane is asking that on his way to or from the meetings that Manny stop by his offices to discuss the documents and Murad's side of the problem. Considering that his office are around the corner from HBO, both Manny and Murad could have this put to rest within the week.
