Hersisia Splits From Louati

07.07.05 - Dutch and Benelux heavyweight champion Richel Hersisia, 24-1 (19), will no longer be trained by Mourad Louati, so much was confirmed by manager Olaf Schroeder of Fight Production, following a meeting between the three parties the previous weekend in Den Haag.

Already, on his own choosing, Louati was not present at the former WBF champion’s last fight in Madrid a month ago, when Schroeder was in charge of Hersisia’s corner together with Enrique Soria Jr., who looks set to get involved in the promotion of the Spanish-speaking heavyweight puncher.

Schroeder would not reveal more details about the reasons for the split between his boxer and former European champion Louati, who was with Hersisia from his professional debut in 2001, but said that no decision has yet been taken with regards to a new trainer. “Unfortunately, Mourad has choosen to change his mind and put this matter up to the level of lawyers,” explained the German manager, “though this looks rather silly to me, I am still happy to accommodate him. Thus, I let my counsel finish the case before I may decide to comment. However, I can confirm that effective immediately, I am in sole charge of all of Hersisia’s affairs.”
