Sprott: Desperate Dan Or Dirty Dan?
09.01.04 - British and Commonwealth Heavyweight Title challenger MICHAEL SPROTT believes that DANNY WILLIAMS will resort to being a ‘Desperate Dan’ when they meet for their third fight on January 24 at the Wembley Conference Centre. Sprott still feels bitter following their controversial second fight in September last year when Williams landed three low blows on the Reading man before stopping him in the fifth round and has vowed to get revenge. Up until the fifth, Sprott was ahead on points and giving Williams a real going over.

Sprott said, “I know how to beat Williams and that is to put constant pressure on him. I did that in the last fight and I was giving him a proper beating until he realised that he was going to get beat so he got desperate and started looking for an easy way out by throwing illegal punches,”
The former Southern Area Champion continued, “My tactics will be the same for this fight, only this time I will really force my power and strength on him from the start because Williams cannot handle it. My fear is that once Williams starts to get the feeling that he’s going to go down the same road as the last time and get another beating he will go back to being ‘Desperate Dan’ or ‘Dirty Dan’ by throwing low blows,”
He finished by saying, “If Williams is going to get dirty and resort to cheating again that’s up to him. I will play by the rules and knock him out fair and square. I know that the referee will be watching him like a hawk this time and he won’t get away with it. I’m out for revenge and everyone will see Danny get what he deserves.”
