AN UPDATE ON RAY OLIVEIRA

11.07.05 - By Trainer Ice John Scully: "Ray Oliveira is doing fine. We went to the Emergency Room after the fight and a CAT scan came back fine. Ray is a warrior, big heart in the way of Gatti, Ward and Holyfield. He wanted to keep going and was very upset that they stopped the fight but he was just not up to par..

"I am still not sure what the actual physical problem was but he had tremendous pain in the right side of his body and in the back of his head. it was scary for a while, but all indications are that he will be fine from this, and will suffer no ill effects."

Side note: I spoke to Ray yesterday and he feels fine. He will go to a doctor this week for a follow up but I get the impression that it will all turn out well.
