Taylor-Hopkins II?

20.07.05 - By Jim Amato: My first thought if there is a rematch...I'd go with Hopkins right now. Bernard will pick up the pace much earlier in the rematch. Also he knows he can take the best that Taylor has to offer. Bernard also knows now that he can hurt Taylor. If it would have been a fifteen rounder (the TRUE) championship distance, I feel Hopkins would have broke Taylor down and stopped him. A very similar scenario to Sugar Ray Leonard and Tommy Hearns first fight.

Taylor said he wasn't hurt but I think that he was. He found himself getting banged around pretty good in those later rounds. I don't think that Taylor will be looking forward to the return match as much as Hopkins.

Bernard just did not think he would lose and now that he has, that great pride of his will kick in. I'm thinking Bernard wins the rematch and then the two will fight a rubber match. The biggest loser in this whole situation is Winky Wright. He's been frozen out for the time being.
