Calzaghe & Khan Tickets Now On Sale

22.07.05 - Tickets are now on sale for 'The Final Countdown' featuring WBO World Super-Middleweight Champion JOE CALZAGHE and fight sensation AMIR KHAN at the Cardiff International Arena on Saturday 10 September. Welsh star Calzaghe headlines a superb show with the 17th defence of his title knowing that victory is crucial if he is to get his unification fight with IBF title-holder Jeff Lacy next..

The hard-hitting star is now boxing's longest serving world champion with an incredible eight-year reign of the 168lb division since he won the title in 1997 against British great Chris Eubank.

Unbeaten in 39 fights with 31 big KO's, Calzaghe returns to the C.I.A where two of his career best performances have been. Who could forget his thriller against Charles Brewer and his breathtaking up-and-down war with Charles Brewer?

Calzaghe said, "It's great to be back at the C.I.A and I will give my fans at home a real show to remember. This is a vital fight in my career because a unification fight against Jeff Lacy depends on me winning so I cannot lose. When the heats on that's when I produce my best results."

Whilst Calzaghe is the present, Olympic Silver Medallist Amir Khan is the future.

The exciting 18-year-old has his second fight after making a big hit in professional debut earlier last week with an amazing 109 second victory over David Bailey.

Power-punching Khan said, "I'm delighted to fight in Wales which has a rich boxing history and I'm honored to fight on Joe's undercard. It will be a great night for me and more importantly the fans and I'm looking forward to putting on great performance. See you there!"

A quality packed undercard features the best in Welsh boxing talent including: Gary Lockett, Tony Docherty, Jamie Arthur, Barrie Jones, Darren Morgan, Kerry Hope, Bradley Pryce and Nathan Cleverley.
