Gallegos Training Under Martinez For Salita Fight

DENVER, Colorado (August 6, 2005) - New Mexico’s Shawn Gallegos (15-1) has an appointment in New York City with Dmitry Salita (22-0) on Thursday, August 25. The two pugilists will meet inside the boxing ring to determine the NABA championship..

Gallegos has joined the Catacombs stable of fighters and has signed with renowned trainer Aurelio Martinez. Gallegos currently in Denver, will venture between New Mexico and Colorado for his training against Salita.

“I’m ready to take a step up, beating Dmitry and bringing home the belt will show I’m ready.” Said Gallegos

Gallegos training along side of WBC Continental Americas Super Lightweight champion Donald Camarena and Colorado’s top fighters Russell Jones, Jesus Noriega, Felix Rios and David Hernandez.

“There is no doubt in my mind that Shawn will beat Dmitry Salita. We are going into the lion’s den and we’ll have to be sharp as razors. And that’s what you’ll see when Shawn steps into the ring.” “At the same time we understand we are fighting the promoter’s fighter in his home town and it will be difficult to win a decision, so we have to be the dominant fighter.” Said Martinez

Although Dmitry has the advantage of fighting in front of a home town crowd and under the banner of his promoter Lou DiBella, he will face his toughest competition and a guy who is coming to win. Not to mention trained by a proven trainer who knows a little about boxing.
