British Title News: Haye/Swaby
14.01.04 - By Elliot Worsell: The highly anticipated British cruiserweight title eliminator between Bermondsey prospect David Haye and Lincoln hard man Lee Swaby will take place either on February 20 or February 27 after both camps came to a mutual agreement this afternoon (Jan 14). Lion Promotions will promote the bout, which is scheduled to take place at a venue to be named. English champion Haye, whose crown will also be on the line against Swaby, goes into this fight with the rugged southpaw, with his eyes firmly set on a shot at British champion Mark Hobson.

Swaby, who is on a rich vein of form, and is the number one challenger to Haye’s newly acquired English title, will be hoping to make up for a career of hard work and graft, and to upset the promising BBC coverboy and ex amateur star.
It’s a significant step up for the 23-year-old Haye, and one that clearly signifies his future intentions to dominant the domestic cruiserweight scene. Lee Swaby however, is a tough nut to crack, and should not be taken for granted.
