Swiss welter Riad Menasria returns to action for the first time in 2005 tomorrow (Sep 7) when he in Bern takes on Russian veteran Viktor Baranov. Middle Yves Studer and lightheavy Mohamed Belcacem are featured in the other profights on this Boxing Kingsī bill.

The Virgil Hill vs Valery Brudov WBA cruiser title fight appears to end up on DKP`s September 30 show in St Louis.

Ukrainian middle Andrey Kuvatov square off against Brit Paul Buchanan September 16 in Dnipropetrovsk for the vacant IBF Youth title. Welter Yuir Nuzhnenko takes on Belorussian Sergey Shnip while lightheavy Vadim Safonov is in against Igor Tverdokhleb.

Dutch cruiser Don Diego Poeder takes on Brit John Keaton in the headliner of Big Boss Boxingīs show September 10 in Rotterdam. Itīs for the Dutch title, which remains vacant in case of a win for Keaton.

German welter Michel Trabant will be on Universumīs show in Halle October where WBO ruler Zsolt Erdei takes on Medhi Sahnoune. Trabantīs opponent could be David Estrada although it doesnīt appear to be a done deal. Ex-WBO interim 168 lb champ Mario Veit is also on the show.

Professional boxing might return to Sweden in the summer of 2007 it was announced today (Sep 6) - but there are big maybes surrounding this and there might be "special rules" for the game such as headgears, thicker gloves, shorter rounds and distances. I will get back on this when mr Keneth Wising in the Ministre of Justice returns to his office.

Ex-WBO middle champ Armand Krajnc is thinking about coming back - note thinking about it. Armand is currently employed full time as a trainer in Malmo, Sweden, and weighs in at cruiser.

Danish promoter Bettina Palle begins the new season September 30 in Slagelse with local lightweight Martin Kristjansen going for the WBO I/C title. The chief support features welterweight Thomas Damgaard and supermiddle Rudy Markussen. Also on the bill are jr middle Reda Zam Zam and female stars Anita Christensen and Frida Wallberg. Palle hopes to be able to present two or three more shows during the fall including a defence by WBA supermiddle ruler Mikkel Kessler.

Team Palle have also clearified a statement yesterday at teampalle.dk where it said Arturo Gatti vs Thomas Damgaard was a done deal. Itīs now said that they have an offer for the Gatti fight and that Damgaard has accepted.
