Lasse Johansen Stops Polakovic

10.09.05: Undefeated IBF International cruiserweight champion Lasse Johansen upped his ledger to 12-0 (8) on Saturday night, when he stopped his second straight undefeated opponent in the Czech Republic. Denmark’s Johansen wore out former Olympian Pavol Polakovic (now 6-1) for a TKO victory at the Hilton Hotel, when Polakovic didn’t come out for round five. This was a non-title fight on a show promoted by OK-KO promotions..

In May, Johansen out-classed another Czech, when he proved too smart for Lubos Suda, 10-1 (8), who returned with an impressive twelve round decision victory last night over countryman Roman Kracik (now 18-1), and the hype in Prague is now that Johansen will square off with Suda in a rematch in December.

“We have no problems taking a rematch with Suda, but it is very premature to announce this fight already now, as no money have been discussed at all” says manager Henrik Risum. “I’m quite surprised that the promoter apparently takes the rematch for granted when we haven’t at all talked about the conditions yet, and although we love coming to the Czech Republic, appreciate the great hospitality, and are very happy with our cooperation with OK-KO Promotions, naturally the rematch is not going to happen if Lasse is not offered what he deserves for the fight. We have other options too…”
