Mock successfully defends his belt

05.11.05 - By Ike Enwereuzor: WBO Intercontinental Super Middleweight Champion Lolenga "The Leopard" Mock (now 25-9-1 8KO's) successfully defended his title against former two-time Russian champion Yuri Tsarenko, who fell to (24-14-1), by a 12 round unanimous decision. Both Judge Terry O'connor and Dave Parris scored the bout 120-108, while judge Torben Seeman Hanson scored it 117-111 all 3 in favor of Mock.. The card took place on Bettina Palle's show in Silkeborg, Denmark on Friday night. In September 2004, Tsarenko lost a close 12 round decision to unbeaten Robert Stieglitz.

Mock is expected to return to action in December against any of these fighters: Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, both from Australia or Lucian Bute from Canada. A win over one of these boxers could fetch him WBA elimination, which could be against Rudy Markussen or even Anthony Mundine. Markussen vs Mock is the fight European Boxing fans want to see 2006.

Also on the card, unbeaten Reda Zam Zam improved his record to (18-0) 7KO's while his opponent Alessio Furlan of Italy fell to (14-4-5). Cruiserweight prospect Johny Jensen lifted his record to (18-0) by winning a 8 rounds decision over Toto Mubenga of Congo who dropeed to (13-4) with 3KO's Martin Kristjsnsen won his fight with Kirkov Kirkorov of Bulgeria. The female contest between Anita Christensen of Denmark and American Leona Brown plus Rudy Markussen fights couldn't take place.
