Khan Looks To London

07.11.05 - Following Amir Khan's three round demolition of Steve Gethin last Saturday in Glasgow, the Bolton teenager now heads South to make his London professional bow at the ExCeL London on December 10. The Olympic silver medallist took his record to 3-0 with a dazzling performance to completely shut out the experienced Walsall pro..

"I had a fantastic time in Glasgow and it was great fighting there for the first time and I would like to thank the Scottish fans and media for making me feel welcome," said Khan.

"When I went out for a walk in the city centre and started meeting and chatting to the fans you could feel the vibe that there was a big fight going on and that everyone was excited,"

"I hope I put on a good performance for them on the night and I would love to go back and box there again,"

Khan's opponent for the ExCeL will be announced shortly and he is excited about fighting in the Capital on the undercard of the big clash between Audley Harrison and Danny Williams.

He added, "London's the next stop and I'm looking forward to having my first pro fight in the Capital,"

"When I went to London last month to promote the fight I felt the same buzz there and everyone is not only talking about my fight but the main event which is a cracking fight between Williams and Harrison and also a great fight card with some top names,"

"It will be a sell-out on the night and the atmosphere will be incredible in there,"

"I aim to keep my unbeaten record and close the year with a top performance and look forward to my 2006 campaign."
