Williams was too big and too strong for Perryman. Since joining the Silverhawk Boxing team, Sherman Williams (27-10-2, 15KO’s) under the tutelage of the legendary trainer Buddy McGirt, has continued his climb towards his shot at the heavyweight title. Sherman Williams looks to 2006 as his year. "My time has come", says Williams. "I am looking to the future with Silverhawk Boxing, to continue my pursuit into the Heavyweight division."
With his present win streak and the recent openings in the heavyweight division, 2006 appears to be the breakout year for Sherman Williams. One or two more rousing victories over quality opposition could potentially catapult Williams into a title shot before the end of next year. In a possible match up with any of the recognized champions - Hasim Rahman, Lamon Brewster, Chris Byrd, and John Ruiz - Williams would bring his trademark never-say-die attitude and immovable foundation to the forefront.
Those two traits, in addition to his God-given boxing talent, give him a credible chance in realizing his ultimate dream of capturing the heavyweight championship of the world.
