Mundine and Green weigh-in

16.05.06 - By Gavin Stone, 16th May 2006- Anthony Mundine and Danny Green weighed in tonight for their much anticipated bout tomorrow evening at Sydney’s Aussie Stadium. Green tipped the scales at a lean but formidable 75.9 kilograms, and Mundine looking in career best shape at 75.5 kg. Both fighters making the Super Middleweight limit of 76.2kg.

As customary both fighters were talking up their chances.

"My preparation's been beautiful, I just want to thank my team, all the boys, I'm just ready to roll.” Green said

"There's nothing to say, let's do it, let's get it on for Wednesday night.

"Thanks everyone, it's going to be a great fight, I'm looking forward to tomorrow night, v for victory,"

A calm Mundine was looking forward to one of the biggest moments in his sporting career.

"I know I'm the people's champ, I know what I've got to do," said ‘The Man’.

"I've got to go in there and relax, be cool, let my fists do the talking, let my skill do the talking, and show him that I'm the baddest man here.

“I am an entertainer. What I am going to do is give the people a show and beat him down. All questions will be answered after tomorrow night."

Tomorrow nights bout will challenge the Australian boxing attendance record of 37,000, set at Jeff Fenech's world title loss to Azumah Nelson in Melbourne in 1992.

The Mundine-Green bout is sanctioned as a WBA World Title Eliminator, with the winner receiving the opportunity to face the Viking Warrior Mikkel ‘Hit Man’ Kessler.
