“I’m excited to be working with the Prize Fight Boxing team, and I’m ready to get back in the ring and settle some unfinished business,” said Judah, whose promotional company Super Promotions is partnering with Prize Fight Boxing. “All the champions better enjoy their belts now, because I’m coming back to claim what’s mine.”
“This is an important day in the history of Prize Fight Boxing, and we’re honored to have a boxer the caliber of Zab Judah on our team,” said Brian Young, President of Prize Fight Boxing. “He’s one of the sport’s best, and it’s just a matter of time before he’s on top of the pound for pound list.”
Zab Judah (34-4, 25 KOs), a speedy southpaw with pop in each hand, turned pro in 1996 after a stellar amateur career. He won the IBF junior welterweight title in 2000 and made five successful defenses before a loss to Kostya Tszyu. In 2004, Judah moved up to welterweight, and in February of 2005, he won the undisputed world title by stopping Cory Spinks in nine rounds. In Judah’s last fight, he dropped a controversial 12 round decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr., and he is eager to get redemption as soon as possible.
Terms of the co-promotional deal were not released. Judah is expected back in the ring this fall against an opponent to be determined.
