Italian Boxing: "The Night of 3 Crowns", July 27 in Milan
20.07.06 - On July 27, Salvatore Cherchi's OPI 2000 will promote one world championship and two European titles on the same night. The venue will be famed Velodromo Vigorelli in Milan. The event is labeled the "Night of 3 Crowns". In the main event, Silvio Branco (54-8-2) will fight Manny Siaca for the interim WBA light heavyweight crown. For the locals, the most fascinating battle will be between European light middleweight champion and former IBF welterweight champion Michele Piccirillo (45-3 and 1 NC) and young Luca Messi (30-6-1)..
Messi is a big draw in Bergamo which is close to Milan. At least 1,000 fans from Bergamo are expected to go to the Velodromo Vigorelli to support Messi.
