Librado Andrade Headlines "Independence Brawl" on Sept. 15

27.08.06 - Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING teams up with Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions and Miller Lite along with TCF Bank to present INDEPENDENCE BRAWL on Friday, September 15th at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. The fully air conditioned Aragon Ballroom is located at 1106 W. Lawrence Avenue on the north side of Chicago. Doors for this event will open at 5:30pm, with the first bell scheduled for 6:30pm. Tickets starting at $25 are available in advance by calling 312-226-5800..

Headlining the evening is the WBC’s #1 ranked super middleweight Librado Andrade, 23-0 (17KO’s) a native of Leon Guanajuato, Mexico, who will battle Richard Grant, 19-13-1 (5KO’s) of Brooklyn, NY in a scheduled ten round bout.

Said Oscar De La Hoya about the INDEPENDENCE BRAWL event and Librado Andrade, “It’s always great to come back to Chicago to work with the 8 Count team and deliver an exciting night of fights for the diehard Chicago boxing fans.  The response to our January and May events was amazing and I'm looking forward to another great night on September 15th.”

Continued the WBC Junior Middleweight Champion De La Hoya “Librado Andrade is a future star in this game, and one of the select few who never disappoints the fans.  He always brings his best and he never shies away from a war. I never miss one of Librado's fights and I'm sure the discerning Chicago fight fans will love him."

Said Dominic Pesoli, “I’m thrilled to work with Oscar and the Golden Boy crew on
this event. Andrade is a terrific fighter and we’re thrilled to bring him to Chicago.”

“We’re also featuring our newest signing, Tavoris “The Assassin” Cloud, a terrific light heavyweight prospect that has really impressed our fans with two stunning knockouts this year at the Aragon.”

The hard hitting Cloud, 11-0 (10KO’s) a native of Tallahassee, Florida will appear in an eight round bout. Also on the action packed card is the return of Chicagoland favorite, super bantamweight Ivan Rodriguez, 6-3 (3KO’s) who will appear in a six round bout.

Newcomer Marcos Esquivel, 1-0 (KO) of Aurora, IL, who made his pro debut on July 21st on the 8 Count Productions SHOWDOWN event with a fantastic knockout stoppage of Tim Lindgren, will appear in a four round super lightweight bout.

Also on the undercard is Chicago female super bantamweight Nora Reyes, 1-1 who will battle in a four round bout.

Rounding out the undercard is Polish prospect Mateusz Masternak, 2-0 (2KO’s),
scheduled in a four round light heavyweight bout.
