Guerault Strengthens Sports Network's French Connection
28.10.06 - Sports Network are delighted to announce the signing of leading bantamweight and former world title holder David "The Warrior" Guerault to their stable as their Gallick operation gathers pace. Frenchman Guerault is a former stable mate and close friend of Souleymane M'baye, and aims to follow in his recent footsteps by becoming a world champion.

After signing for Sports Network last year, M'baye won the WBA World Light-Welterweight title this September with a stunning fourth-round TKO win over Raul Balbi.
Guerault, who is managed by Bernard Roos, has already challenged for the WBA World Bantamweight crown, losing on points to Johnny Bredahl in October 2003, and now wants another crack.
The 33-year-old southpaw is the current EU Bantamweight champion, and will be known to British fight fans following his seventh round KO over then undefeated Noel Wilders in a challenge for the full European title in June 2003.
He is also a former European flyweight champion - way back in 1997 he stopped Ady Lewis in four rounds and in 1999 out-pointed Jason Booth - and boasts a 33-3 record.
A former gifted amateur Guerault boxed for France between 1992 and 1995, was a French Youth and French Junior champion, a quarter finalist at the world championships and French amateur champion between 1991 and 1995.
"I'm delighted to have added David to my stable as we look to make an impact with our French stars over the next few months," said Warren.
"David is a very talented boxer, and I'm confident I can deliver for him in the same way that I have delivered for Souleymane."
