Aaron Williams Scores 2nd Round TKO on Pavlik Undercard
03.11.06 - Last night, undefeated cruiserweight prospect Aaron Williams (10-0-1), showed a national T.V. audience and a crowd of 7,000+ Youngstown fight fans why he’s one of the most talked about young fighters in boxing as he stopped Mike Word in 2:35 of round 2. In his first fight under the watchful eye of former WBA Light Heavyweight Champ Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Williams showed a powerful jab, hand-speed, power and the kind of cunning you normally don’t see in a 20 year old boxer.

The soft spoken Williams was happy with his performance. “This was my best fight, I’m very happy to be working with Eddie (trainer Eddie Muhammad). My punches were short and I worked the body. I’ll be back in the gym next week so I can fight in December.”
“This was a great platform to showcase Aaron’s talent”, said co manager Albert Falcon. “I want to thank Brad Goodman and the great people at Top Rank for this opportunity.”
“We’re working on a December date. There’s been some s*** talking by a lackey for some Chicago promoter. If you have somebody who’s stupid enough to get in the ring with Aaron, let me know where to fax the contract. Back your smack, or shut up!”
The Williams bout was part of the Kelly Pavlik / Lenord Pierre card, promoted by Top Rank and televised nationally by Versus.
