Mike Nevitt Returns to Ring December 1st in Cicero

19.11.06 - Chicagoland fan favorite, undefeated light heavyweight Mike Nevitt returns to the ring on Friday December 1st at Cicero Stadium as part of DECEMBER FRENZY, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions. DECEMBER FRENZY, another evening of world class professional boxing, is presented by 8 Count Productions and Bob Arum's Top Rank Incorporated along with Miller Lite and TCF Bank..

Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm. Tickets, starting at $30, are on sale in advance by calling 312-226-5800.

Nevitt, 12-0 (5KO's) won the Illinois State Light Heavyweight Title with a dominating unanimous decision win over Rocky Smith on December 3, 2005 at the Aragon Ballroom. In his last fight Nevitt won a unanimous decision win over Jesse Sanders on March 17, 2006 at the Aragon Ballroom.

Said Pesoli, "We're very happy to bring Mike back, our fans love him. His state title victory was a terrific fight. He's always great to work with and we're looking forward to his fight on December 1st."

DECEMBER FRENZY is headlined by an outstanding super bantamweight WBC Title Eliminator between Ricardo Castillo, 27-2 (17KO's) of Mexicali, Mexico and Takalani Ndlovu, 26-3 (17KO's) of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Alejandro Valdez vs. TBA, bantamweights, eight rounds
Mike Nevitt vs. TBA, light heavyweights, six rounds

Ivan Rodriguez vs. Benjamin Orozco, bantamweights, six rounds
Andrzej Fonfara vs. Eberto Medina, welterweights, five rounds
Victor Polakov vs. TBA, middleweights, four rounds

The Master of Ceremonies for this event will be the internationally recognized voice of Latino boxing, Lupe Contreras.

The weigh in for this event will be held at on Thursday, November 30th at 7pm at Club Aquarius, 2459 N. Pulaski on the northwest side of Chicago.
