Mayweather trounces Ndou!

01.11.03 - By Pat Lanier: Lightweight champion Floyd Mayweather, in a awesome display of punching power combined with ring generalship, won by TKO in the 7th round over Phillip N’dou on Saturday night in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mayweather stood toe to toe with N’dou, trading punches for much of the bout, which was a huge departure for Mayweather, who usually avoids getting hit at all costs.

Mayweathear ( 31-0, 21 KOs), overwhelmed N’Dou in the 7th round with a mixed assortment of combinations, and power punches which culminated with three straight rights that floored Ndou halfway through the seventh.

N’dou, generally considered a knockout artist, was unable to land with any frequency during the bout, due to Mayweather’s excellent defense.
