Guinn vs. Lawrence Feb 2 ESPN

Houston, TX (January 23, 2007)-Coming up February 2nd at the Main St. Armory in Rochester, New York to be televised on ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights, a ten round heavyweight match-up between former heavyweight contender Dominick Guinn 27-4-1 (18 KO’s) and tough journeyman Zuri Lawrence 20-11-4 (0 KO’s) has been added to the line up..

Guinn last seen action this past December in his home state of Arkansas and was awarded the hard fought split decision victory over Zack Page. After negotiations fell through for a proposed bout against Canadian heavyweight Kirk Johnson, Guinn was approached to face Lawrence just days ago and made it final today. Lawrence, a seasoned veteran best known for his win over heavyweight contender Jameel McCline has been out of action nearly a year since being stopped by heavyweight contender Calvin Brock in Las Vegas.

All though Guinn took the fight on a short notice he feels confident with his abilities, “It was a quick notice, but we will take any televised fight,” explained Guinn, “I want my fans to see their next heavyweight champion in action!”
