27.01.07 - Cheryl Nance Promotions, CNP, in association with Fight Night for Kids hosted the annual fundraiser in Charlotte, North Carolina on Thursday, January 25, 2007. The night started off with two exciting four round fights, Jamie Winchester (7-2) defeated David Gomez (0-1) (Dec) and Edsom Aguirre (12-5-1) defeated Richard Heath (3-8) (Dec)..
In a scheduled 8 round fight, the normally durable Richard Hall (10-18-1) was stopped in the first round by Thomas Davis (11-3-2).
In the Main Event, Angel Chacon (30-7-2) challenged current Champion, Johnnie Edwards (11-0) for the NABA Featherweight Championship. Edwards retained his title with a 12 round unanimous decision.
CNP, Edwards’ Promoter, commented that Edwards is willing to fight any of the prospects and CNP welcomes all offers.
" We have the Old School approach, we believe to be the best-you must fight the best. Thus far, we've been turned down by many of the prospects, but we believe that with the New Year comes New Hope."
